Dendrites



Very complex stellar-looking ice crystals with multiple feathery tree branch-like structures. Different types of ice crystal habits are favored at different temperatures. The favorable temperature range for dendritic ice crystal growth is -10 to -20 oC but especially -15 to -16 oC.
